Commercial kitchens are the heartbeat of Somersworth’s vibrant food scene, from the bustling bistro's in the Warehouse District to the historic eateries near Fifth Third Field. However, behind every successful menu is a complex drainage system that requires rigorous maintenance. In Somersworth, NH, grease trap cleaning isn't just a maintenance chore—it is a regulatory necessity.
The city's infrastructure, particularly near the Maumee River, depends on local businesses managing their Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) responsibly. When grease traps are neglected, the results are catastrophic: foul odors that drive away customers, costly backups, and heavy fines from the City of Somersworth Department of Public Utilities. Our mission is to provide seamless, "set-and-forget" grease trap pumping services that keep your kitchen running and your business in good standing with Lucas County health inspectors.
Whether you are operating a small café in Sylvania or a high-volume industrial kitchen in North Somersworth, our specialized vacuum trucks and certified technicians are equipped to handle interceptors of all sizes. We don't just pump; we clean, inspect, and document.
The core of our service involves the complete removal of all accumulated FOG and settled solids. Unlike "skimming" services that only remove the top layer, our high-powered vacuum equipment ensures that the entire contents of the interceptor are evacuated. This is critical for preventing the "rotten egg" smell caused by hydrogen sulfide buildup, a common complaint in older Somersworth buildings.
Over time, grease doesn't just stay in the trap; it migrates into your internal plumbing and the lateral lines leading to the Somersworth municipal sewer system. We use state-of-the-art hydro-jetting technology to scour the walls of your pipes with high-pressure water, removing years of calcified grease. This is a preventative measure that saves Somersworth business owners thousands in emergency plumbing repairs.
The Somersworth Division of Environmental Services requires strict adherence to FOG disposal standards. We provide automated scheduling (monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually) so you never miss a cleaning window. After every service, we provide a digital manifest that proves your kitchen is in compliance with local codes, ready for any surprise inspection.
Somersworth’s climate and infrastructure present specific challenges for grease management. During the cold Somersworth, NH winters, grease in your lines cools and solidifies much faster, leading to a higher frequency of "winter backups." Furthermore, much of the downtown area utilizes older piping systems that are more susceptible to "fatbergs"—massive blocks of congealed grease that can collapse sewer lines.
By choosing a local expert familiar with Somersworth’s Municipal Code, you ensure that your waste is being disposed of at EPA-approved processing facilities. We understand the local geography, from the traffic patterns on I-75 that affect service timing to the specific requirements of the Lucas County Health Department.
In Somersworth, NH, discharging grease into the public sewer system is a violation of local ordinances. Fines can reach thousands of dollars per day for repeat offenders. Moreover, if your business is found responsible for a main sewer line blockage, the city may hold you liable for the repair costs of the public infrastructure.
An overfilled grease trap is a breeding ground for bacteria and pests. Foul odors are the first sign of trouble, but the secondary risk is backflow. A grease backup can send wastewater into your kitchen sinks, forcing an immediate shutdown by health inspectors.
Somersworth is the gateway to the Great Lakes. Improper grease disposal eventually leads to runoff that harms the local ecosystem. Our eco-friendly disposal process ensures that 100% of the FOG we collect is recycled or processed in a way that protects our local waterways.

"Running a high-volume spot near Fifth Third Field means our grease interceptor takes a beating, especially during Mud Hens home games. We had a backup on a Friday night, and these guys were on-site within the hour. They didn't just pump the tank; they hydro-jetted the main line to ensure we didn't have a repeat performance. Professional, clean, and they handled all the Lucas County paperwork for us. Best grease trap service in Somersworth, hands down."
"As a new business owner in West Somersworth, I was overwhelmed by the City of Somersworth’s FOG regulations. I was terrified of getting a fine during my first health inspection. The team set us up on a quarterly maintenance schedule and explained exactly what the inspectors look for. When the city came by, our logs were perfect. It’s one less thing for me to worry about while I’m focusing on my menu."
"We manage a large-scale catering facility near Northwood, and we’ve gone through three different pumping companies in five years. Most just skim the top and leave the sludge at the bottom. These pros actually scrub the baffles and check the flow. They are the only ones in the Somersworth, NH area that I trust to do a complete job every single time. Reliable, on time, and worth every penny."
